Commercial wall cleaning and degreasing
Walls in a working kitchen collect a film of airborne grease that ordinary washing just smears around. Dry vapour steam lifts it off instead — painted, vinyl, wood or any other surface, back to the colour it started as. Nano Clean has degreased commercial walls across the Edmonton area since 2010.
Why steam beats scrubbing
Detergent and a cloth move grease around the wall and leave behind a residue that attracts the next layer faster. That's why a wall washed with degreaser looks clean for a fortnight and then looks worse than before.
Steam lifts grease off the surface and takes it away. The wall stays clean longer, and there's no harsh chemical film left behind in a room where food is prepared.
Cleaning before painting
Paint does not bond to grease. Painting over a greasy kitchen wall is the single most common reason a commercial repaint fails early — it looks fine for a few months, then blisters, discolours or peels at the edges.
If you're planning to repaint, degreasing first is worth doing regardless of who paints it. We can clean and paint in the same visit if that suits your schedule.

Common questions
Will cleaning damage my paint?
No. Dry vapour steam is gentler on paint than scrubbing with a caustic degreaser. Barry tests an inconspicuous area first on any surface he hasn't worked with before.
Can you clean walls without closing?
Yes — overnight, before opening, or on your closed day.
Should I clean the walls or just repaint?
Cleaning is cheaper and is often enough on its own. Most walls people assume need repainting just need degreasing. If you do want to repaint, cleaning first is worth doing anyway, because paint won't bond properly to a greasy wall.
How often should commercial kitchen walls be cleaned?
Most Edmonton kitchens benefit from a full wall degrease once or twice a year, alongside the ceiling. High-volume kitchens with a lot of frying tend toward twice.
