Commercial floor, tile and grout cleaning

Grout is porous. In a commercial kitchen it soaks up grease, spills and traffic until the lines go from grey to black and mopping stops making any difference. Steam pulls that back out of the grout instead of sealing more of it in. Nano Clean restores commercial tile and grout across the Edmonton area.

Why mopping stops working

A mop moves dirty water across the floor and pushes it into the grout lines, which sit lower than the tile. Over time the grout becomes a reservoir for everything the mop has picked up.

Steam heats and lifts that buildup out of the pores so it can be removed rather than redistributed. It's the difference between cleaning a floor and rearranging it.

Sealing afterwards

Once grout is clean, sealant keeps it that way. It slows how quickly grease and spills soak back in and makes your daily cleaning noticeably more effective.

It's optional. Barry will tell you whether your floor is a good candidate — on some surfaces it makes a large difference, on others it isn't worth the cost.

Common questions

Can black grout be brought back?

Usually, yes. Most grout that looks permanently stained is loaded with absorbed grease rather than dyed, and steam lifts it out. Grout that's cracked, missing or previously painted may need regrouting instead — Barry will tell you straight.

Do I need sealant?

It isn't required, but it makes the clean last considerably longer in a commercial kitchen. Barry will advise based on your specific floor.

How long before we can walk on it?

Dry vapour steam is 94% dry, so floors are back in service quickly. Sealant needs longer to cure — Barry will give you a firm time before starting.

Can you clean the floor and treat it for slip resistance in one visit?

Yes, and that's the right order. Non-slip treatment works best on properly cleaned tile and grout.
