Restaurant kitchen deep cleaning
Your nightly crew handles the surfaces. We handle everything above and behind them — the ceiling, the walls, the equipment exteriors, the grout lines and the corners grease has been building up in since the last deep clean. Nano Clean has deep cleaned Edmonton kitchens since 2010.
Why biodegradable matters in a kitchen
A kitchen is a food preparation environment. Every cleaning chemical used in it leaves a residue on surfaces that food later touches.
Our machine runs on tap water. The steam comes out at 220°F and removes grease and grime through heat alone — no harsh chemical residue on prep surfaces, no fumes, no ventilating the building afterwards. Where a detergent is genuinely needed, ours is biodegradable and non-toxic.
When to book a deep clean
Ahead of an Alberta Health Services inspection. Before a new location opens. At lease end, when the condition of the space decides how much of your deposit comes back. Under new ownership, when you inherit somebody else's grease. After a kitchen fire or smoke event.
Or on a set schedule, once or twice a year, so it never becomes urgent in the first place.
What we don't do
We don't clean kitchen exhaust hood interiors and ductwork to NFPA 96 fire code — that's a separately certified trade and you should use a certified contractor for it. We clean hood exteriors and the surrounding surfaces as part of a deep clean. If duct cleaning is what you need, call Barry anyway and he'll point you in the right direction.
What a deep clean covers
- CeilingsTiles, grid, vents, light lenses and fixtures degreased and restored.
- WallsEvery surface degreased back to original colour, including behind the line.
- Equipment exteriorsGrease lifted off without disassembly or caustic chemicals.
- Coolers and walk-insCleaned inside and out.
- Ceramic tile and groutFloors and grout lines restored to natural condition.
- Hard-to-reach areasBehind and beneath equipment, where routine cleaning never gets.
- Hood exteriorsThe outside of the exhaust hood and surrounding surfaces.
- Drains and floor edgesThe perimeters a mop rides straight over.
Common questions
How often should a commercial kitchen be deep cleaned?
Beyond nightly cleaning, most Edmonton kitchens need a full deep clean once or twice a year. High-volume kitchens and anything doing a lot of frying tend toward twice.
Do we have to close?
No. We work overnight after close, early morning before you open, or on your closed day.
Is steam safe around food prep surfaces?
Yes — that's the main reason we use it. Heat does most of the work, and where a detergent is needed it's biodegradable and non-toxic, so nothing harsh is left behind.
Do you clean kitchen exhaust hoods and ducts?
We clean hood exteriors and surrounding surfaces as part of a deep clean. Full exhaust duct cleaning to fire code is a separately certified service — call Barry and he'll point you to someone if that's what you need.
How long does it take?
Most kitchens are done in one overnight visit. Barry confirms the timeline with the estimate before anything starts.
Will this help us pass a health inspection?
A deep clean addresses the ceiling, wall, floor and equipment grease that inspectors routinely flag. It isn't a substitute for daily practice, but going into an inspection with clean ceilings and grout lines removes an entire category of problem.
