220°F dry vapour steam cleaning — biodegradable and non-toxic

Dry vapour steam is the technology behind everything we do. It's why we can clean a ceiling instead of replacing it, work in a food prep area without leaving residue, and get a kitchen back in service the same night. Every Nano Clean job across the Edmonton area runs on it.

How it works

The machine heats tap water to 220°F and releases it as steam that's 94% dry — meaning it carries very little actual water. The heat breaks the bond between grease and the surface it's stuck to, and the grease is wiped away.

No detergent is required for most of the work. Where one is needed it's biodegradable and non-toxic, so nothing harsh is left behind. And because the steam is almost entirely dry, surfaces aren't soaked and there's no long drying period afterwards.

About our cleaning solution

Most of the work is done by heat alone. Where a detergent is genuinely needed, ours is a biodegradable, non-toxic, detergent-based solution that's safe for use around carpets, drapes and furniture.

It's a deliberate choice, not a marketing line. In a room where food is prepared, whatever you put on the ceiling eventually ends up on the surfaces below it.

Common questions

What is dry vapour steam?

Steam that carries very little liquid water — around 94% dry. It's produced by heating water well past boiling under pressure. Because it's so dry, it cleans through heat rather than saturating the surface, which is why it's safe on materials that wet cleaning would ruin.

Does it actually remove grease without harsh chemicals?

Yes. Heat breaks the bond between grease and the surface underneath it, so the grease releases and is wiped away. That's the entire mechanism — it's why no harsh chemical is required for most of the work.

Is it safe around food preparation areas?

Yes, and that's the main reason we built the business around it. Heat does most of the work, and the solution we use where one is needed is biodegradable and non-toxic.

Can it be used on acoustic ceiling tiles?

Yes. Because so little moisture is involved, dry vapour steam is one of the few methods that's safe on acoustic tile. Wet methods and pressure washing damage them.

Where do you use it?

Ceiling tiles and grids, walls of every surface type, restaurant equipment exteriors, ceramic tile and grout lines, coolers and walk-ins, bathtubs and shower walls, and floors.
